My winter Japan Photo tour is back, bigger and better than ever… actually it’s smaller than ever, as I am now taking just 6 participants for 13 days of wildlife and minimalist landscapes in the beauty of Northern Japan.
One of my favourite cultural events on our Autumn tours to Japan is our photo shoot with some of the Maiko and Geiko of Kyoto. Known to most westerners as Geisha. This is not a word they ever use in Kyoto. In Kyoto they are Geiko – literally “Woman of Art”, and Maiko, the apprentice Geiko – Literally “Girl of Dance”.
Continuing the story from the previous post about Autumn colours in Japan. Some of the more diverse range of photography we do in Japan during our Autumn Colours of Japan Photo Tour. Though not actually Autumn colours, the life on the streets is a big part of visiting Japan, so not including this would be like walking around with one eye closed all the time.
I have put the finishing touches on our latest Autumn Colours of Japan Photo tour for 2020. We have capitalised on the experiences of the last few years, refining our itinerary and improving the plan to produce the most comprehensive tour possible.
We don’t just cover one field or style of photography, we immerse you in many diverse opportunities to express yourself.
I got back from this years winter wonders of Japan photo tour at the beginning of March after two weeks of extraordinary adventures, it was a fabulous tour and I haven’t even had time to write properly about it… I will, though not today.
I have just put together a Japan photo tour in Winter for next year in February. Actually this sounds like I threw the tour together in a hurry, this is not the case. I have actually been putting together this tour for some months, but only just this week released it… and there are only 2 spots left already… and I haven’t even sent out a newsletter yet!
Last Saturday evening, March 10, at 11.45pm I finally completed the web-page for my Japan Photo Tour for November 2018, by 11.50pm I had 2 bookings. The next morning, I had another booking. Monday morning I had booking number 4, Tuesday morning booking 5,6 and 7, leaving just 3 places left.
By 3.30pm Tuesday all of those places were taken and I had 4 people on the waiting list… That’s a truly amazing response and it took me completely by surprise. I am used to Bhutan and Iceland selling out fast, but fast is usually a couple of weeks, not 2.5 days… I didn’t even have time to send a newsletter…
